| Designed: | 2010 | | Designer | Michael Koenig | | I grew up in a rural region near Aachen. My mother was Dutch, my father German. My grandparents were artisans. I came into contact with a wide range of materials at a very early age, and took great pleasure in designing things.
After leaving school I trained as a cabinetmaker then studied design in Aachen, graduating with honours. One year later, I lectured in product development at university. At this time I began working on my own projects with German brands such as Details and Freiraum. Habitat and Ligne Roset were my first significant international clients.
